On 12 May 2023, the Ministry of Defence, Czech Republic, was the venue for a meeting of the Director General of the Industrial Cooperation Division, MoD, Radka Konderlová, MBA, with the Director of the Military Technical Institute of Air Force and Air Defence, Libor Tomolya, who took over from Director General Radka Konderlová, in the presence of the representatives of the Military Aviation Authority, CZE, a Type Certificate for ELM 2084 MMR (multi-mission radar) - Primary Mobile 3D Air Defence Radar with interrogator (MADR).

Issuing the Type Certificate was the culmination of several years of a demanding process of the assessment and verification of the performance and operational characteristics of the system, including the check of the related operational and technical documentation. An important role in the whole process was played by the Military Technical Institute of Air Force and Air Defence, state-owned enterprise, acting as a contracting partner of the manufacturer of the system, the Israeli company ELTA Systems Ltd.

During a short meeting, all participants briefly evaluated their experience gained while working on the project and confirmed their interest and determination to continue effective cooperation.

The next step towards the attainment of full capabilities will be the gradual verification of the operational capability of radars at their sites and the integration of radar information into the national air situation imaging system.
