The Minister of Defence presented departmental awards on the occasion of the national holiday

On 1 November 2023, the Minister of Defence Jana Černochová honoured forty people for their contribution to the Czech Republic and its army.  The award ceremony took place at the Žižkov Army Museum in Prague on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the foundation of the independent Czechoslovak state.

´The Cross of Merit of the Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic´ was awarded, among others, to Eva Filipi, until recently the Ambassador of the Czech Repulic to Syria, the composer Michael Kocáb and Radek Matula for their significant merits in the field of diplomacy and in the area of coordination of aid from the Czech Republic to the war-affected Ukraine. As for the excellent performance of official duties, this award was also received by the members of the Department of Supervision over Military Aviation of the Industrial Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Defence, PhDr Milena Létalová and MSc Jindřich Tausch, as well as the former Director of the Department, Res GS Col Lubomír Sitta, MSc.
